The Kodjabashis of Castropyrgos, by M. Karagatsis, directed by Dimitris Tarlow and adapted for the stage by Thanasis Triaridis, arrives at Poreia Theatre with a cast of 18 actors and musicians on December 8. M. Karagatsis’ extraordinary trilogy on the Greek War of Independence, encompassing intense autobiographical elements as it references his great grandfather Mitros Rodopoulos – a real revolutionary hero – springs to life on stage, taking a bold look at both the virtues and the darker aspects of the 1821 Revolution.
